10 Financial Principles That are Biblical
10 Financial Principles That are Biblical
by George Fooshee
Some people mash cans, crunch bottles or shred newspapers and magazines to further the cause of modern ecology. As owner and manager of a collection agency for 17 years, I believe in preserving the nation's natural and human resources too-particularly from a personal finance perspective.
There are ten financial principles found in God's Word to counsel and to help "recycle" many people, especially Christians, who have been all but mashed, crunched or shredded by the miseries of indebtedness and poor money management.
To put it plainly, I've seen firsthand the full spectrum of financial woes that can hopelessly trap people in a society victimized by the credit-card, "buy-now-pay-later" syndrome.
As a bill collector, my business is to try to collect accounts that creditors have been unsuccessful in collecting. Daily, I see people in deep financial trouble. Thousands in this country have got themselves into financial messes that can lead to more serious consequences.
For years all of my personal financial counseling ended in failure. Then I discovered God's mighty Word and His ten financial principles. Financial counseling became a matter of revealing these principles and allowing financially troubled persons to choose whether to obey them or not. These principles reveal God's instructions to His children for conducting their financial affairs.
I believe that one of the major themes of the Bible is obedience to the Lord. These financial principles are real, and obedience to them demonstrates that Christians are trusting God in another area of their lives.
God is Source
The first principle is that God is the source of everything. Philippians 4:19 says, "My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Proverbs 8:20,21 adds, "I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures."
And 2 Corinthians 9:8 says: "And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work." Whenever we need money or possessions, prayer is the answer. Look to the Lord, because He will provide it-according to His will.
Giving Essential
The second principle is that of giving. Luke 6:38, a key verse, says, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." According to Deuteronomy 14: 23, one purpose of tithing was to teach the people of Israel to put God first in their lives.
I find there are a couple of ways I can put God first daily. One is to have a quiet time. If I am unwilling to meet the Lord each morning when I get up, that means I'm putting somebody else or something else before the Lord.
For example, how many people have thought seriously about not taking the daily newspaper? The man who is unwilling to cancel a newspaper subscription, which is keeping him from reading the Word of God, may often be the same man who is having trouble making the payments on the TV set that is keeping him from doing the things that would help him grow closer to the Lord. So it can be a vicious cycle. And with TV commercials by the dozens exhorting him to buy, spend, charge and go, is it any wonder that thousands of people are so molded by the world?
Having a quiet time is one way a person can put God first. I believe another is to commit a tenth of his income-right off the top-to the Lord's work. Proverbs 3:9,10 reads: "Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst with new wine."
Live On Margin
The third principle is that of living on a margin. Everyone ought to live on a margin-a physical margin, a spiritual margin, a time margin and a financial margin. Living on a margin simply means allowing room for things to happen.
There are really only three ways a person can arrive anyplace. He can arrive early, on time or late. I used to aim at arriving right on time, and I consistently arrived five minutes late. That's because I allowed no margin.
Those precious minutes add up. Think of the cumulative effort, on health alone, of continually spending 15 minutes hurrying to be five minutes late. I swim three times a week at the YMCA to stay in shape, and I try to eat right and keep my weight down, since I want to serve the Lord and therefore don't want to die of a heart attack. But 15 minutes of hurrying three times each day for 15 years adds up to nearly six months of 24-hour days when I'm under unnecessary tension, just hurrying to be late. And tension is a leading cause of heart attacks. How ridiculous! But the Lord led me to operate on a time margin-planning to arrive early rather than hurrying to be late.
Bible Backs Saving
The fourth financial principle concerns saving money-setting something aside for a rainy day. Proverbs 21:20 says, "There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up." And Proverbs 22: 3 emphasizes, "A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished."
For a simple example, if a couple with an income of $12,000 a year would save $1000 of it each of those years and let this money earn 6 percent interest, compounded annually, they would have $24,672.56 at the end of a 15-year period.
If at the end of 15 years of saving faithfully, a son or daughter is ready for college or the family needs to move into a bigger house or wants to serve the Lord on a full-time basis, the couple can start to withdraw their savings. They can withdraw $2000 a year for 10 years and still have $15,322.17, or slightly more than they set aside. Isn't this making your money work for you? God has a reason for the principle of saving money.
Keep Out of Debt
The fifth principle is to keep out of unnecessary debt and thus avoid the debt trap. Borrowing for a house or car is one thing but taking on financial obligations one can't keep-buying beyond the ability to pay-is another. Psalm 37:21 says "the wicked borroweth, and payeth not again." The minute a person goes into debt, he loses a portion of his freedom. As Proverbs 22:7 says, "The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender."
Suppose this same young couple with the $12,000 annual income had decided that instead of saving $1000 a year, they would go into debt for $1000 to buy some furniture. And suppose they continue to increase their indebtedness by $1000 during each of the 15 years, without paying back one cent. With 10 percent interest, compounded annually, on the increase in debt, the couple's debt would have been an astronomical $34,949.74. The debt on $1000 alone for that same period, without any repayment, would have been $4177.21.
Too many people think you can buy now and pay later. That isn't true. I've found that easy credit now makes people uneasy later. Usually a person pays more for the use of borrowed money than he gets in interest for saving it.
Secret of Contentment
The sixth principle is being content with what one has. Hebrews 13:5 puts it succinctly: "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
One area where people often first become discontent involves the old automobile. Too many persons trade or sell their cars before they are used up. There's a big difference between fixing up the old junk heap to drive three more years and buying a new car. Many salesmen make the slick remark, "You just make that easy monthly payment." There is seldom anything easy about that monthly payment. It seems to get harder to make all the time. Second Corinthians 6:10 is so beautiful to apply here. It reads: "As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things."
My friends in the automobile business tell me that most cars are good for more miles than most people put on them. Just because a car has over 100,000 miles doesn't mean a person has to get rid of it. Look at some of the buses, trucks and cars still going strong, especially in countries outside North America. They are cars of the same age and mileage that other people junked years ago.
A worthwhile saying to remember on contentment is this: "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, do without."
Keep Records, Budget
The seventh principle is that of keeping records and making a budget. God's Word says, "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding" (Prov. 23:23). "Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: and by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches" (24:3,4).
If someone were to tell me that he's going to run his business without keeping any records, I would say this is downright stupid. And it is even worse for one who really wants to be a good steward of the Lord's money.
I started my children on a three-category budget when they started school. Every week I distributed the allowance-$1.50-.50 cents each for depositing in separate calling card boxes designated "save," "church," "spend." The kids had a visual control system. If there was no money in there, they had no money to spend. Making a budget won't be that simple, but the idea is the same.
A man I know to whom I have given financial counsel thought he was doing great because he had to borrow only $300 in the last eight months. When I asked him how he managed to get along so well, he admitted he had sold his week of vacation for $500 and had some overtime pay.
I figured that the fellow was actually spending $175 per month more than he was making during the eight-month period, despite the one-time windfall of getting rid of his vacation and working overtime. A year from now, at his present rate of overspending, he would owe $2100 more, with interest adding to his debt totaling more than $30 each month.
By keeping good records, having a plan and being honest with oneself, a person won't get into financial trouble. I seldom see financially successful people who don't keep good records.
It's the same with my own business cars. I cut all my salesmen back 15 percent and made a little budget. The salesmen follow a monthly plan and know what the limit is. They are staying within the budget without a reduction in sales. It's just a matter of being more efficient with what one has.
Don't Cosign
The eighth principle is, don't cosign. God says in Proverbs 27:13 to exercise extreme caution in cosigning. The advice infers that the world's poorest credit risk is the man who agrees to pay a stranger's debt. When a person cosigns a note, he is the one who is really borrowing the money. The reason a person needs a cosigner is because the lender is unwilling to lend that money to the person requesting the loan.
Work Hard
The ninth principle is that of hard work. The Scriptures spell it out: "In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury [ poverty]" (Prov. 14:23). "He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough" (28:19).
It is important to work. "In the beginning God created" (Gen. 1:1). Even God is at work. This is a principle throughout the Bible. Many times I find that people in financial trouble aren't really working hard. I have often discovered in counseling young men in real financial trouble that they are "tooling" around too much of the time and putting 2000 miles a month on the car. I advise them to take a second job. This increases their income and decreases their expenses and it keeps them from misusing or frittering away their time.
Seek Godly Counsel
The last principle is that of seeking godly counsel. Psalm 1:1 declares, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly." A person needing financial advice should not go to someone who makes his living selling the very thing he's contemplating buying. "Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established" (Prov. 15:22).
Before buying a house, purchasing a car or just borrowing money, pray about it and seek the counsel of godly people. They can keep you from making a lot of mistakes. The reason so many persons don't seek counsel is that they don't want to be told by someone an intended action is unsound-they just like to do what they want anyway.
Above all, don't sign anything until you check the deal thoroughly first. Don't be hurried into any deal. The worst deal in the world is often the one in which a person is rushed into signing-capitulating to a relentless salesman's chance-of-a-lifetime-offer pressure tactics. The best offer in the world can wait.
These are the ten biblical financial principles: God is the source; give first; live on a margin; save money; keep out of debt; be content with what you have; keep records; don't cosign; work hard and seek godly counsel.
As one learns to follow these eternal principles in his personal finances, he will know the joy that comes from trusting and obeying God.

learn about cancer
Treatment by stage of rectal cancer
Surgery is usually the main treatment for rectal cancers that have not spread to distant sites. Additional treatment with radiation and chemotherapy may also be used before or after surgery.
Stage 0
At this stage the cancer has not grown beyond the inner lining of the rectum. Removing or destroying the cancer is all that is needed. You can usually be treated with a polypectomy (removing the polyp), local excision, or transanal resection and should need no further treatment.
Stage I
In this stage, the cancer has grown through the first layer of the rectum into deeper layers but has not spread outside the wall of the rectum itself.
Surgery is usually the main treatment for this stage. Either a low anterior resection, colo-anal anastomosis, or an abdominoperineal resection may be done, depending on exactly where the cancer is found within the rectum (these were discussed in detail in the surgery section). Adjuvant therapy is not needed after these operations, unless the surgeon finds the cancer is more advanced than was thought before surgery. If it is more advanced, a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy is usually given.
For some small T1 N0 M0 stage I rectal cancers, another option may be removing them through the anus without an abdominal incision (transanal resection or transanal endoscopic microsurgery). If the tumor turns out to have high-risk features (such as a worrisome appearance under the microscope or if cancer is found at the edges of the removed specimen), another surgery, such as those used to treat stage II cancers, may be advised. In some cases, adjuvant chemoradiation (treatment with radiation and chemotherapy together) is advised for patients having such surgery. 5-FU is the chemo drug most often used.
If you are too sick to have surgery, you may be treated with radiation therapy such as endocavitary radiation therapy (aiming radiation through the anus) or brachytherapy (placing radioactive pellets directly into the cancer). However, this has not been proven to be as effective as surgery.
Stage II
Many of these cancers have grown through the wall of the rectum and may extend into nearby tissues. They have not yet spread to the lymph nodes.
Stage II rectal cancers are usually treated by low anterior resection, colo-anal anastomosis, or abdominoperineal resection (depending on where the cancer is in the rectum), along with both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Most doctors now favor giving the radiation therapy along with the chemo drug 5-FU before surgery (neoadjuvant treatment), and then giving adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery, usually for a total of 6 months of treatment (including the time getting chemo and radiation together). Chemotherapy may be the FOLFOX regimen (oxaliplatin, 5-FU, and leucovorin), 5-FU and leucovorin, CapeOx (capecitabine plus oxaliplatin) or capecitabine alone, based on what's best suited to your health needs.
If neoadjuvant therapy shrinks the tumor enough, sometimes a transanal full-thickness rectal resection can be done instead of a more invasive low anterior resection or abdominoperineal resection. This may allow the patient to avoid a colostomy. A problem with using this procedure is that it doesn't allow the surgeon to see if the cancer has spread to your lymph nodes or further in your pelvis. For this reason, the procedure generally isn't recommended.
Stage III
These cancers have spread to nearby lymph nodes but not to other parts of the body.
Most often, radiation therapy is given along with 5-FU chemo before surgery (called chemoradiation). This may shrink the cancer, often making surgery more effective for larger tumors. It also lowers the chance that the cancer will come back in the pelvis. Giving radiation before surgery also tends to lead to fewer problems than giving it after surgery. The rectal tumor and nearby lymph nodes are then removed, usually by low anterior resection, colo-anal anastomosis, or abdominoperineal resection, depending on where the cancer is in the rectum. In rare cases where the cancer has reached nearby organs, a pelvic exenteration may be needed. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy are usually part of treatment as well. As in stage II, many doctors now prefer to give the radiation therapy along with chemotherapy before surgery because it lowers the chance that the cancer will come back in the pelvis and has fewer complications than radiation given after surgery. This treatment may also make surgery more effective for larger tumors.
After surgery, chemotherapy is given, usually for about 6 months. The most common regimens include FOLFOX (oxaliplatin, 5-FU, and leucovorin), 5-FU and leucovorin, or capecitabine alone. Your doctor may recommend one of these if it is better suited to your health needs. Sometimes, this chemo is also given before the chemoradiation and surgery.
Stage IV
The cancer has spread to distant organs and tissues such as the liver or lungs. Treatment options for stage IV disease depend to some extent on how widespread the cancer is.
If there's a chance that all of the cancer can be removed (for example, there are only a few tumors in the liver or lungs), treatment options include:
* Surgery to remove the rectal lesion and distant tumors, followed by chemotherapy (and radiation therapy in some cases)
* Chemotherapy, followed by surgery to remove the rectal lesion and distant tumors, usually followed by more chemotherapy and radiation therapy
* Chemotherapy and radiation therapy, followed by surgery to remove the rectal lesion and distant tumors, followed by more chemotherapy
These approaches may help you live longer and in some cases may even cure you. Surgery to remove the rectal tumor would usually be a low anterior resection, colo-anal anastomosis, or abdominoperineal (AP) resection, depending on where it's located. If you have only liver metastases, you may be treated with chemotherapy given directly into the artery leading to the liver. This may shrink the cancers in the liver more effectively than if the chemotherapy is given intravenously.
If the cancer is more widespread and can't be completely removed by surgery, treatment options may depend on whether the cancer is causing any symptoms. Widespread cancers that are not causing symptoms are usually treated with chemotherapy. The most commonly used regimens include:
* FOLFOX (leucovorin [folinic acid], 5-FU, and oxaliplatin)
* FOLFIRI (leucovorin, 5-FU, and irinotecan)
* CapeOX (capecitabine and oxaliplatin)
* Any of the above combinations, plus bevacizumab or cetuximab (but not both)
* 5-FU and leucovorin, with or without bevacizumab
* Capecitabine, with or without bevacizumab
* FOLFOXIRI (leucovorin, 5-FU, oxaliplatin, and irinotecan)
* Irinotecan, with or without cetuximab
* Cetuximab alone
* Panitumumab alone
The choice of regimens may depend on several factors, including any previous treatments and your overall health and ability to tolerate treatment.
If the chemotherapy shrinks the tumors, in some cases it may be possible to consider surgery to try to remove all of the cancer at this point. Chemotherapy may then be given again after surgery.
Cancers that don't shrink with chemotherapy and widespread cancers that are causing symptoms are unlikely to be cured, and treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms and avoiding long-term complications such as bleeding or blockage of the intestines. Treatments may include one or more of the following:
* Surgical resection of the rectal tumor
* Surgery to create a colostomy and bypass the rectal tumor
* Using a special laser to destroy the tumor within the rectum
* Placing a stent (hollow plastic or metal tube) within the rectum to keep it open; this does not require surgery
* Radiation therapy and chemotherapy
* Chemotherapy alone
If tumors in the liver cannot be removed by surgery because they are too large or there are too many of them, it may be possible to destroy them by freezing (cryosurgery), heating (radiofrequency ablation), vaporizing them with a laser (photocoagulation), or other non-surgical methods.
Recurrent rectal cancer
Recurrent cancer means that the cancer has returned after treatment. It may come back locally (near the area of the initial rectal tumor) or in distant organs. If the cancer does recur, it is usually in the first 2 to 3 years after surgery.
If the cancer comes back locally, chemotherapy may be given (as well as radiation therapy aimed at the tumor if it was not used before). Surgery to remove the cancer is used if possible, and is typically more extensive than the initial surgery. In some cases radiation therapy may be given during the surgery (intraoperative radiotherapy) or afterward.
If the cancer comes back in a distant site, treatment depends on whether it can be removed (resected) by surgery.
If the cancer can be removed, surgery is done to remove the tumor. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy may be given before surgery (see treatment of stage IV cancer for a list of possible regimens). Chemotherapy is then given after surgery as well. When the cancer is in the liver, chemotherapy may be given through the hepatic artery leading to the liver.
If the cancer can't be removed by surgery, chemotherapy is usually the first option. The regimen used will depend on what a person has received previously and on their overall health. Surgery may be an option if the cancer shrinks enough. This would be followed by more chemotherapy. If the cancer doesn't shrink with chemotherapy, a different drug combination may be tried.
As with stage IV cancer, surgery or other approaches may be used at some point to relieve symptoms and avoid long-term complications such as bleeding or blockage of the intestines.
As these cancers can often be difficult to treat, you may also want to speak with your doctor about clinical trials of newer treatments you might be eligible for.

Easy Ways to Kill Carpenter Ants thumbnail Carpenter ants use wood to build and add to their nests.
Carpenter ants destroy wood and can ultimately destroy homes and buildings as a result. Carpenter ants are similar to termites in the amount of damage they can cause to wood. The two pests differ in their reasons for the wood damage---termites eat wood, while carpenter ants typically only use wood to help build their nests. Fortunately, there are ways to remove carpenter ants from your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Find the Nest
*
Carpenter ants cannot be fully eliminated from the area unless their nests are destroyed. Simply spraying carpenter ants you see with an ant spray will actually cause more damage than good, according to the E Pest Supply website. Killing ants outside of the nest will only cause the queen ant to lay more eggs. In addition, most carpenter ants simply avoid coming in contact with the spray. Instead, you must destroy the nest, along with the queen. To find the nest, look for clues the ants have left behind. For instance, look for ants that are carrying mature larvae. They are likely moving the larvae from the queen's home to satellite nests. Follow them and you will likely find the nest. In addition, listen for the sound of chewing and rustling inside your home. If you hear it inside a wall, chances are the nest is in that wall. Once you find the nest, you can begin to kill the carpenter ants.
Dust Products
*
Ant colonies found inside walls, window sills or other hard-to-reach areas should be treated with dust products, according to E Pest Supply. Use a small hand duster to apply the product to the nest. If the nest is inside a wall, use a small drill bit to create a hole in the wall that gives you access to the nest. In addition, if the ants are inside your walls, remove electrical and plumbing covers and apply dust to the electric and plumbing areas. Carpenter ants will often travel along electrical and plumbing routes. Dusting these areas will help spread the dust to them, helping to destroy the nest.
*
Bait
*
Bait is often a safe and effective way to eliminate carpenter ants. Bait is available in granular or gel form, according to the Bug Clinic website. Bait can be applied into wall openings, such as light switches, and in hidden areas, including attics, under carpets and in cabinets. The ants will eat the bait themselves and often take pieces of it back to their nests. Some baits work best when placed in products that are designed to house the bait, while others can be placed on their own. Place bait anywhere that you have seen carpenter ants.

List of Wood Destroying Insects thumbnail Many kinds of insects destroy wood.
When it comes to wood-damaging insects, there are many more than just termites. Dozens of different insect species can infiltrate wood and slowly destroy it, causing structural damage. It's important to identify the type of insect that is causing the damage in order to remove them. As a safety precaution, it is always a good idea to contact a professional when attempting to identify or remove wood-damaging insects. Does this Spark an idea?

Carpenter Ants
*
Carpenter ants earned their name due to the fact that they destroy wood quite efficiently. Carpenter ants are black or reddish-black insects that nest in cavities above ground level. Damage occurs when carpenter ants attempt to expand their nests, causing structural wood damage. Other damage may occur to soft building materials and insulation.
Termites
*
Termites are the most well-known insects that cause wood damage. These small delicate insects construct colonies within wood structures. Termites eat wood fiber, and damage usually occurs from the inside out. Termites generally damage softwoods but can also damage hardwood areas as well.

Lyctid Powderpost Beetles
*
Lyctid powderpost beetles are small and reddish brown to black in color. The beetle larvae directly infest wood, destroying it. The beetles feed on starch and cause damage mostly to hardwood surfaces such as furniture, cabinets and flooring. Lyctid powderpost beetles leave small exit holes, which are covered in a dusty powder.
Round-Headed Wood Borers
*
Round-headed wood borers are large, cream-colored wood-infesting larvae with a prominent head capsule. Adults turn into large, colorful beetles with a long antenna. These beetles generally live in living or dead trees and cause damage to hardwoods and softwoods. The beetles generally cause limited damage because they do not reinfest the wood after the first generation.
Horntail Wasps
*
Horntail wasps are large insects with a long stinger. Horntail wasps generally emerge in newly constructed homes up to around 3 years old. Structural damage is minor and usually results in aesthetic damage to wall or floor coverings. Horntail wasps generally leave large half-inch exit holes that are easy to identify.
Carpenter Bees
*

(NaturalNews) We all know about them - pesticides and waxes that cover our produce. Although there are many fruit and vegetable washes available in supermarkets, it's simple to make your own homemade blend that will work just as well and at a fraction of the cost. So why, then, would you pay all this money for something you can make at home? You've come to the right place ... save your pennies because the buck stops here - and now!
Consider these facts:
- Bacteria and fungus occur naturally on most crops. Even if there is no visible soil clinging to your non-organic or organic produce, bacteria can be present.
- Imagine how many hands touch the food before it gets to your mouth, plus bacteria from soil and dirt can accumulate during the shipping process: these can cause a buildup on the surface of any produce.
- Agriculture pesticides are not removable with water alone.
Even if you plan to peel or scrape the produce, it is best - and recommended - to clean it first. Let's say you have a beautiful ripe melon and you slice through it without washing the outside ... the knife can carry potentially harmful pathogens from the rind through the center, and that beautiful melon can turn into a perfect breeding ground for greater bacteria growth.
Some people wash produce with dish detergent. Although this removes much of the pesticide, that which is left - plus any soap residue - could still be detrimental to your system and, in fact, has been known to cause gastrointestinal upset. Be cautious when using anything on any food product that is not meant to be consumed.
Some delicate produce items, such as berries and apricots, should not be soaked in water but can be sprayed with one of the homemade cleansing blends below and then placed in a colander, using a gentle flow of water to rinse the fragile skins. To avoid rapid spoilage of produce, wait to wash and rinse just prior to use.
Convenience has become a way of life at the grocery store. Pre-packaged items that market ready-to-eat produce are a shopper's dream, yet it's still a good idea to wash before consuming. This will only take a few minutes, and you'll be certain your food has been thoroughly cleaned.
Everyone likes to save money, and since there's no need to buy expensive produce wash when you can just as easily mix your own with common ingredients known to most cupboards, jump on board! This ensures better flavor, reduces risks of consuming contaminants, and saves money in the process - a plus on all counts. The combination of long-term health benefits and putting pennies in pockets will be doubly rewarding.

Produce Wash 2

- 1 Tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 cup water

October 12, 2011 Magic Home Improvement
Pests have been a significant problem for the better part of human history. They have at the very least always been a nuisance, and at the worst can spread disease in several different ways. Therefore it is important to know ahead of time the best ways to get rid of these pests, especially when they decide to make your home their new place of residence. Common Pests
The insects that you are most likely to encounter are some of the most prevalent creatures on earth, and this includes crawling bugs such as ants and roaches. Both of these problematic insects can make themselves at home quite easily in your house, and will often eat their way through anything you might have left out and unprotected. So, they are obviously an unsightly and annoying problem in any house.
They often come into a home in search of either food or shelter (well, both), and will not leave of their own accord until they are banished from your house by the use of effective pest control methods.
Quick Tips
For these bugs and indeed most pests, the best thing to do at the start of the process is to minimize your exposure in terms of available food and shelter for them, in order to make your home a less attractive place for them to stay. This can include such simple things as cleaning up any food that might not be properly sealed or put away, or making more regular trips to take out any garbage. In addition, if the problem is coming from roaches, you should make sure that the areas underneath kitchen cabinets and cupboards are kept dry, as moist or damp places will draw them in faster than those that are kept clean and dry.
Using Pesticides
After taking these simple measures, the key to true and complete pest control is to research and purchase the appropriate pesticides. The key is getting the right pesticides for the job. This is what will give you the real power when it comes to getting rid of the problem. Many people may not be aware that the same products that are employed by professional exterminators are also available online to those who wish to do the application themselves.
These powerful pesticides will allow you to eradicate any insect or rodent that may be invading your home. Not only are there quite a few products available for those who are trying to get pests out, but there is also a wealth of advice and information on both the products and the individual types of pests. By searching for and using your own pest control products, you will not only be taking complete control of the situation and restore your peace of mind, but you will also be saving both time and money when compared to the traditional method of using a professional service to get rid of the problem.
